Department of Pharmacology

A primary objective of pharmacology is to investigate fundamental aspects of cellular and Molecular Bio regularity and mechanism for the purpose of understanding how drug act in order to develop new drugs for treating disease.

Pharmacognosy is a discipline deals with the versatile studies of drugs from Natural Bilogical Origin. It provides the information about the procedures and apparetus used in the manufacturing of materials for natural origin. A medicinal Plant Garden also established with variety of medicinal plants Herbs and Species.

Pharmaceutical Analysis is an interdisciplinary subject related to all sorts of health sciences. This course is oriented to analyze the drug samples in dissolution media, blood matrices, and metabolic samples, interpretation of MS, IR, NMR spectra of known and unknown compounds etc. Our department has world class equipments such as Bruker FT-IR, Brookfield Viscometer, Shimadzu HPLC, Rota Vapor etc. to meet the current needs of the industry.

Biotechnology is concerned with the manufacture of pharmaceuticals with the aid of microorganisms in aseptic laboratories.
